This is something I make frequently, especially when our busy family needs to “eat in shifts” due to our activities schedule. This makes A LOT on purpose because we like to have leftovers for lunches!
1lb ground beef
1lb Italian sausage (brown them together)
2 cans tomatoes (I like to use fire roasted)
6oz can tomato paste (plus 2 cans water)
3-4TBSP spaghetti seasoning (see below)
or 1 packet store bought spaghetti mix
Parmesan rinds (if I have them)
Slow cook on low 6-7 hours or high 3-4. Serve over noodles, zoodles, spaghetti squash, etc.
Spaghetti Sauce Seasoning:
1TBSP each:
minced dried onion
garlic powder
oregano
dried parsley
2tsp basil
1tsp each:
thyme
salt
1/4tsp red pepper flake (optional)
1TBSP corn starch
Mix and store in airtight container.
I use 2-3 tablespoons to replace one standard packet of store bought spaghetti seasoning mix.
