Here’s how I made this pasta in the slow cooker:
1pkg fully-cooked smoked sausage, sliced
1/4 onion, chopped
1 can fire roasted tomatoes
1tsp garlic powder
salt & pepper to taste
3 1/2 cups broth
Cook on high for 3-4 hours then stir in:
1lb short cut pasta (like rotini or penne)
Cook on high for 20-30 minutes, or until pasta is cooked to al dente.
Stir in 1/4-1/2C cream (optional) and 1-2C shredded cheese, depending on cheesy you like your pasta. It’s ready to serve, but I usually pop the lid on and let it heat together for about 5 minutes.
